uring this course, I will show you step by step how to create a forest environment from scratch.
From creating vegetation in Speedtree 9 to the final composition in UE5.1. We will see the creation of textures using Quixel Mixer, a landscape for decorating the background of our scene using Gaea (optional), and create all the necessary shaders to get the maximum quality. And we will finish with 4K rendering using the Movie Render Queue. More details below.
What will I learn?
In Speedtree 9:
Create next-gen serval trees with hybrid logic (structure with nanite and foliage with shared LODs/imposters)
Generate 3D branches to use as textures.
Create an atlas to combine multiple parts into a single texture.
Generate foliage models optimized for real-time rendering.
In UE5:
Sophisticated shaders for trunk, foliage, terrain, and Megascans assets.
Advanced terrain shader with distance blending texture, parallax mapping, RVT, automatic logic, and masked foliage generation.
Full compositing (procedural placement, lighting, VFX…)
Generate renders with the Movie Render Queue
Description continues:
In Quixel Mixer:
Create multiple advanced textures with and without animated puddles in UE5.
Export with properly packed textures.
In Gaea:
Create some landscapes that will be used to decorate the background of our scene.
Export masks to use them for texturing in UE5.
In Photoshop:
Replace the colors of some textures.
Increase the quality
Combine masks
