Description : A specialized graphics application that provides the user with a wide range of tools for working with textures in 2D and 3D modeling:
Real-time texture mapping. Work with textures is organized so that the user sees the result during their application. Each stroke is instantly applied to all channels.
Layers. Thanks to them, the workflow in Substance Painter is very similar to that in Adobe Photoshop. It is based on a stack of layers that can be added, removed, merged with each other,
hidden, etc. An intuitive hierarchy makes it easy to apply and modify effects in models.
Working with particles. In Substance Painter, you can recreate realistic rain, smoke, flames, snow, dust, dirt and overlay them on 3D objects.
To work with particles, brushes are used, which can be selected from a predefined set, modified and created by yourself.
Using shaders. The user can import their own shaders and create channels for drawing. For example, Substance Painter allows you to apply
a physically correct Physically-Based Shader or a non-photorealistic “cartoon” Toon Shader.
Effects and brushes. You can create them yourself or apply ready-made ones to layer masks – for example, for realistic aging.
Brushes and effects allow you to paint parametric textures directly on the model, adjusting their characteristics to achieve the desired look.
Advanced 2D. Substance has a 2D mode with dynamic shadows, a freely rotating canvas, and seamless 2D painting.
In this way, Substance Painter combines the integrity of 3D with the convenience of a flexible 2D mode.
